Listed after testing,
not before
Six steps, every item, no exceptions. It takes hours per part.
How I test, step by step
- 01SourcedWorking systems, retired client builds, vetted estate lots. Origin written down per item.
- 02InspectedPhotographed under bench light before power goes near it.
- 03TestedA bootable USB runs stress-ng, memtester, fio, smartctl and glmark2 on it for hours. Every drive erased and the method written down. The log that comes off it is the log on the listing.
- 04GradedScored on the five-tier scale. The notes say what works, what is worn and what to expect. This is where the awkward ones land: a card that runs a long stress test clean and then shows artifacts in a game, a memory kit that passes its first pass and fails the fourth. When that happens the grade follows what I saw rather than what the part should do on paper, and the listing says which.
- 05DocumentedBuilds ship with the parts list, thermals under load and the benchmark numbers from burn-in.
- 06ShippedAnti-static bag, foam, double box, tracking the same day. Out the door in 1 to 2 business days.

The numbers above are an example of what each step writes down. Every real listing carries its own log.
- Like-newMinimal to no signs of use, and sometimes still in its original packaging.
- ExcellentLight cosmetic wear, fully functional, every mark photographed.
- GoodWorn but sound.
- FairHeavy wear, or a quirk I have named in the listing, and it works unless the listing says otherwise.
- For partsNot working or incomplete. Sold as-is for repair or harvest, priced like it, and returnable on the same 14 days as everything else.
One person, one bench, Iowa City and Mokena
I'm Andrew. I started buying dead machines to fix my own rig and it turned into this. Every part on the site passed through my hands, which is the only reason I can tell you what's worn on it.
I'm in school, so the bench sits in Iowa City during the semester and moves home to Mokena, Illinois over breaks. I sell from Iowa City: that is where every order ships from and the only place you can pick one up. When I am home in Mokena over a break the bench is closed. Anything you order then ships when I am back in Iowa City, and the notice at the top of every page says so while the bench is shut.
Every drive is erased before I list it, and its log says how: the drive's own secure erase on an NVMe, ATA Secure Erase on a SATA SSD, a single-pass overwrite of the whole surface on a spinning disk. A drive that fails its test gets destroyed rather than sold, and one that comes back in a return is erased again the day I unpack it.
If a listing sounds too clean, ask. I'd rather lose a sale than have a card come back with coil whine I never mentioned.
A part leaves here sold as tested, which means no warranty on it. You get 14 days to send it back for any reason, and I pay the postage both ways if it is not what the listing said.
A build is different, because I picked every piece in it and put it together. Commissions carry a 3-month warranty on parts and labor, and take 2 to 3 weeks, depending on stock and shipping.
I don't sell mining cards as gaming cards. Nothing ships the day it lands here either, because a part I haven't had on the bench overnight hasn't been tested yet, and I won't put a grade on something I have not powered on myself. Even a For-parts item gets powered on and its failure written into the listing, so as-is never means untested.
