BENCH LIGHT ON · IOWA CITY IA

Used parts that already survived the hard part.

I'm Andrew. One bench, one person. Nothing gets listed until it has run stress-ng, memtester, fio or glmark2 for hours, and the log comes with it if you ask.

Nothing on the bench this minute.

Parts get listed as they finish testing. Check back tomorrow or ask about something specific.

Listed after testing, not before

Six steps, every item. Sourced, inspected, tested, graded, documented, shipped. It takes hours per part.

  • 02Every mark photographed under bench light before any power goes near it.
  • 03Hours of stress testing, and the log file is yours before you pay.
  • 04Graded on five tiers, with the quirks written out in plain words.
The whole process, step by step

That is a sample of the shape they take. Every listing has its own log behind it.

CUSTOM BUILDS

Tell me the use case and the budget

I source the parts, build it, run a 48-hour burn-in, then ship it ready to plug in. It leaves with its parts list, thermals under load and the benchmark numbers. One build at a time, in the order the specs come in.

ABOUT

One person, one bench

I buy dead machines, find out what's wrong with them, and sell the parts that come back to life. Here's how I grade, and what I won't do.

QUESTIONS

Ask before you buy

If a listing sounds too clean, ask. I'd rather lose a sale than have a card come back with a quirk I never mentioned. I reply the same evening most nights, two days at the worst.
